Learn To Acknowledge And Accept Your Feelings

Learn to acknowledge and accept your feelings

There is no one who is more blind than those who do not want to see. Pain, sorrow and fear do not disappear with magic. You can not just close your eyes or snap your fingers to change them. You need to start acknowledging that pain exists and learn to accept it.

Even if you are scared or you think the worst is coming,  things are usually not as bad as we anticipate. One of the greatest demons we encounter is our own  catastrophic mindset  (which some people listen to because they believe it will protect them from disappointment). It takes courage to fight these demons.

But  how can we face what scares us the most? Step by step – the first step is to admit that we are struggling internally, to stop denying your suffering, to stop telling yourself that nothing wrong is happening even if you scream inside. Once you acknowledge your emergency, you will reveal your biggest fears that will allow you to find the best weapons to use in combat.

To feel the burden of the world

First you will feel the burden of the whole world on your shoulders and it will seem as if everything is getting dark. But then you will find that you just have to put a name to the panic or depression that has taken over. When they have a name, they seem less scary because you know what’s going on and you can ask for help in addressing these apparent threats.

Giving your feelings a name does not mean you are reducing the reality of a label. And it’s not an excuse to hide behind every time you do something wrong or a complete definition of yourself. It’s just part of it all. It does not define you because you are worth much more than that.

Giving a problem a name does not mean that you should forget about the context of where it originated, the support you have or the resources you have at your disposal. It is just a way of simplifying the accumulation of emotions, thoughts and behaviors that will or will be difficult to understand.

But again,  simplifying it does not mean that you forget that behind every name, a fear, a demon, is a human being with his own story. A person who suffers, who is brave who needs support and understanding.

Acknowledging and accepting your emotions: Do not waste your time denying reality

Do not waste your time denying reality. What is the worst thing that can happen if you choose to acknowledge what is going on? What is the worst thing that can happen if you stop avoiding life experiences? It is a world full of opportunities on the horizon; you just have to start experiencing it with full intensity.

When you do, the demons will not be the only ones occupying space in your mind. They will rather be full of opportunities, both good and bad, that open up in front of you. This will allow you to get to know yourself on all levels and allow you to accept yourself unconditionally. Most importantly, it  will let you see that you are stronger than you ever thought you could be.

You will be scared, but you will have thousands of weapons you can use. You will be hurt, but you will feel the love and affection of the people around you. You will find that the way you control yourself when you try to live a life without pain is the worst thing you can do to yourself, because you deny yourself a part of reality.

Remember,  we are not happier the less we feel. We are happier when we acknowledge and accept our emotions. Whether you live or hide is in your hands. Whether you accept and acknowledge your feelings or not is in your hands. If you do, the result is always full of hope. The hope is yours, so you can share and spread it with those you love.
