Discover some movies to improve children’s self-esteem

Here is a list of some movies that can be used to work on and improve children’s self-esteem. They are movies that many coaches and teachers also use with children. They will help them become better acquainted with themselves and gain greater confidence in their abilities and feelings.

Ratatouille , 2007

Ratatouille , directed by Phillip Bradley “Brad” Bird, is a film about a little rat who dreams of becoming a famous chef. To do this, he meets the son of a very famous human chef. However, this turns out to be a culinary disaster!

This film lets children discover that there are no limits to strengthening their talent. If they have a skill or a dream, they should at least get the chance to fight for it and make it a part of their lives.

Assignment Nemo , 2003

Andrew Stanton and Lee Unkrich directed one of the most famous films of the 21st century. The film has also received a sequel,  Mission Dory , starring the adorable Dory.

In the film, we encounter several situations about how we can overcome difficult situations. Some examples of this are little Nemo’s “disability” (one fin is smaller than the other). Another is Nemo and his father’s tireless search for each other when Nemo “swims wild”.

There are many scenes in the film that show that when you really want something, nothing can stand in your way. You just have to work towards your ultimate goal with enthusiasm and confidence in your abilities.

Wall-E , 2008

When we watch movies to work with children’s confidence, we should not forget Wall-EThis animated science fiction film produced by Disney and Pixar, tells the story of a cleaning robot that has not stopped working even though humans left Earth many hundreds of years earlier.

We can learn a lot of interesting things from this film. One example is the need for proper waste management, and another is the importance of children’s autonomy when using new technology, gadgets, smartphones, etc.

Human face-to-face communication, despite the fact that we see it through a robot’s point of view, is also important, and the film brings out just that. Through body language and the meaning of sounds, we can learn to communicate effectively, safely and sensibly.

Inside out , 2015

This movie by Disney and Pixar Studios is a classic from modern times that explores children’s emotions. It focuses especially on disappointment, fear, anger, sadness and joy.

Much of what we do with young children when it comes to working on their self-esteem has to do with emotions. In this case, it is not so much that you learn to deal with them, but rather that you have to understand and accept them. You need to understand the consequences they have so that you can learn to deal with them intelligently.

We end the list of movies that will enhance a child’s self-esteem with another excellent movie. The kite trainer tells the story of a boy in his teens who begins a beautiful friendship with a kite.

In order to maintain and enjoy the friendship with the dragon – a creature that all the people in the village he lives in are afraid of – the boy has to fight against all the traditions of his ancestors. He needs a lot of self-confidence in the face of fear. Through the film, the young man proves to be very confident, by prioritizing living beings over customs and unfounded fears.

All of these five movies, as well as many more you have probably heard of, are excellent tools for working with the confidence of your little ones. They will also help them develop their self-confidence in an environment that is tailored to their needs and abilities.
