Ignorance Creates More Ignorance

Ignorance creates more ignorance

In reality, everyone is ignorant. We just do not have the same level of ignorance and we do not notice it at the same level. Ignorance shows that the person does not have enough knowledge or experience. It is precisely this lack of knowledge that leads the ignorant to be fierce and suspicious, to a point where they become enemies with people who have different experiences and knowledge.

Wise people on the other hand know that much of their  worth  is an awareness of their ignorance, like Socrates. This awareness makes them see how limited we are in an unlimited environment. In this way they are reunited with their true nature. These virtuous people stay away from rivalries that make it rare for them to be enemies, or friends, with people who have a lot of greed and excessive desire.

People who ignore their own limitations on knowledge are blinded by their own vision that makes it impossible to communicate with them. Anything that does not fit into their pattern of what is acceptable is a reason to have conflict. They can try to solve this in any way, as long as it does not mean that they give up.

Ignorant people think they know everything

Ignorance makes people bold enough to believe that they know everything and know everything. This type of all-knowing personality can be explained using the Dunning-Kruger effect,  which is a type of misconception. It refers to people who tend to overestimate how much they know, whether it is how much knowledge they think they have or how surely they mix their own opinions with unassailable facts.

Person talks too much

This type of false self-perception was discovered by professors David Dunning and Justin Kruger from  Cornell University  in 1999. Both researchers began analyzing various studies that suggested that ignorance gives people more self-confidence than knowledge. They especially studied various activities such as driving, chess and sports.

Ignoring our own ignorance is the cause of many disagreements. It is not without reason that people make enemies. One of the reasons may be that a person feels attacked or diminished, which stems from their belief that they are “the best”.

Being aware of your ignorance makes you more curious

Part of wisdom is knowing what you do not know and then opening the door and finding the motivation to learn about it. In this way, humility goes hand in hand with wisdom. We must be less ashamed to admit our ignorance so that we can attack more learning opportunities. This is something children can do with ease. They constantly ask what things are, why they exist and how they work.

Most people do not know how the human body works or do not know anything about the complicated biological and chemical processes within us. But we judge people who admit that they do not know. In such cases  , people’s ignorance of their ignorance manifests itself. This happens when no one wants to seem stupid, as if it is the worst that can happen.

Noticing your own ignorance will give you the key to wisdom and knowledge. It allows you to understand the plasticity of people. Therefore, the next time someone calls you ignorant, do not be offended. Instead, thank them for reminding you. Encourage them to learn more or invite them to learn with you.
