To Stop Falling In Love When The Imagination Fades

There are love stories of all kinds. But if you think that yours will correspond to the one you imagined, then you are wrong. Reality always wanders away from imagination.
To stop falling in love when your imagination fades

Stopping being in love refers to the frightening dizziness that results from realizing that the person we love is not who we thought they were. Alfred Hitchcock showed this feeling all too well in his film Vertigo (1958).

To stop falling in love is when the shelf where we held the other person falls apart. The worst part about it is that we can do nothing to stop it. It just happens before our eyes. It is the process that begins when we finally see reality.

When faced with this situation, we sometimes prefer to flee or hold our loved ones trapped in the wonders of our fantasies. One thing is for sure: we have control over our imagination and we are able to create what we want with it. We create other people with our imagination, people we know are not real. Love is a product of our fantasies, of what we want it to be…

Stopping being in love is difficult because there is often resistance on our part. We do not want to accept reality. There is nothing that can keep the pain away from us when we do. We can no longer turn our suffering into magic. It’s really too good.

The crushing feeling of stopping being in love

Stopping falling in love is what happens when we realize that our partner is different from who we thought they were. This is also what happens when your partner tells you that they never felt the same about you, that there was never “true love” for them. It’s also the emptiness you feel when your partner starts to seem more like a stranger than like your boyfriend.

When this happens, we are no longer blinded by love  and we are aware of the truth. Reality paralyzes us. We finally see the other person as they really are, without filters. We begin to feel helpless and our lives suddenly seem meaningless. Love leads to dizziness when it is not real.

We like to imagine what love should be like. Reality can seem unbearable at times, and we may feel lonely and disappointed even though we are in a relationship. We prefer to tone down the situation instead of facing the unpleasant feeling of dizziness. We paint our pain and turn our unsolved problems into fantasies that ultimately do nothing but hurt us even more.

With these ideas of how we want others to be, we endure and idealize marriages and relationships that at some point will end up crushing us.

However, it is important to realize that there are many who are willing to love us in ways we can not even imagine. There are people who would never leave us in the dark and who can make our reality work better than our fantasies.

True love can cause dizziness

We can not deny that love needs mystery. We do not always have to be completely exposed to our girlfriend. Self-expression is good, but there is nothing wrong with keeping things to ourselves from time to time.
